$1,500 FEDERAL TAX CREDIT

On top of these great offers, you may be eligible for a $1,500 tax credit when you update your home’s HVAC system with an energy-efficient Trane system.

For qualified improvements, homeowners may be able to claim tax credits equal to 30 percent of the installed costs (up to $1,500). The new tax credits are retroactive to January 1, 2009 and expire on December 31, 2010.
The tax credit applies as a direct reduction of taxes owed.  To fully understand how the new tax credit may apply to you and what you can do to obtain one, you should consult with a tax professional for advice on tax preparation, as this tax credit is subject to IRS regulations.

CASH REBATES

Local utility companies are offering incentives to purchase Energy Star equipment that meets certain energy efficiency criteria (i.e. 14 SEER or higher, 90% or higher, etc.)  Energy Star equipment operates more efficiently than standard models.  So making wise decisions about your home’s Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems can have a huge effect on your comfort level and utility usage.  For this reason, companies are offering a rebate to help make this energy efficient decision more affordable.

  • Electric air-source heat pump systems may qualify for rebates up to $675.
  • Dual-fuel heat pump systems may qualify for rebates up to $750.
  • Central air conditioning systems may qualify for rebates up to $675.
  • Natural gas systems may qualify for rebates up to $400.
